About the co-op
Secular Omaha is a home-school cooperative of more than 100 local families. We support kids from pre-K through middle school, together.
Who we are
We are a community of home-schooling families across the Omaha area. Some of us have taught for years. Some of us are just getting started. What we share is a belief that kids learn best when they are surrounded by people who show up for them.
The co-op is secular and welcoming. Families of every background are part of it. We come together to give our kids friendships, shared adventures, and a wider world than any one household can offer alone.
How it works
There is something on the calendar nearly every week of the year. Park playdates, trips to the pool, the zoo, museums, and field trips around the city. The events are family-run and family-driven. Parents organize, host, and pitch in.
Through the summer we run two academic enrichment sessions. They meet Thursday mornings for age-appropriate group lessons in STEAM topics: science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Kids learn alongside their friends, and parents share the load.
